Massage Therapy and Cupping

About Massage Therapy and Cupping

Massage is a hands-on treatment where various manual techniques are applied to the soft tissue with the goal of reducing tension and relieving pain. Massage therapy promotes relaxation and improves circulation to the muscles, tendons and ligaments.

Massage can be customized to address specific areas of concern or to simply enhance one’s sense of well being.  The pressure and technique used are tailored to your comfort and preferences.

Massage is often integrated into naturopathic care in order to support your body’s natural healing processes.

Cupping is another ancient healing method that involves using special cups to the skins surface, these cups create a vacuum effect which helps improve circulation and promote flow of energy (Qi), throughout the body. Cupping is often used to alleviate muscles tension and pain, reduce inflammation and improve blood flow.

Like massage, cupping can be adjusted to your comfort level and it is a great adjunctive therapy to help improve overall health and wellbeing

Caution: depending on the state of muscle tension markings from the cups can remain for a few days up to a couple of weeks

Often appointments can include a combination of massage and cupping therapy as they complement each other well for targeting muscle tension and improved blood flow.
